I believe it was Winnie the Pooh who said ‘ when life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles’ ! April showers sometimes make us feel a little down, but we have to remember that the rain is so needed to bring on those flowers , and the greenery we long to see! Life can be overwhelming, especially for caregivers , and there are many “ rainy days “ in the caregiver’s journey. This makes the good days so much more appreciated ! A good day, for a loved one with dementia , might mean a day when she laughed, or smiled, or savoured her favourite cookie with a cup of tea. It might be a day when he recognized you, or even said your name! It might be a day when she was able to hold the spoon, or tapped to the beat of a song! These little things mean so much, and are the sunshine, on a rainy day !
Everything is very open with a precise explanation of the challenges. It was truly informative. Your site is useful. Many thanks for sharing!
